We stayed at the Disney Wilderness Lodge from December 10-20th and had a blast. Turkey, Trimmings and Time with Family

We had a great Thanksgiving with family this year! We hosted thanksgiving at our house on thursday, complete with my parents, my sister and her family, my cousin, my grandpa and my best friend and her new family.
We had way too much food as usual- 2 turkeys (cajun fried) and ham, au gratin potatoes, mashed taters, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, brocoli rice casserole, rolls, cranberry relish, gravy, cornbread dressing, then cherry cobbler, pumpkin and pecan pies and brownies and cookies.

The kids had a lot of fun playing- Will and Mikey fought over the train!

After turkey day, my sisters and mom and I headed to conquer black Friday. We met at 5am at target and then hit the mall, old navy and more. We had a lot of fun and surprisingly the crowds were not too bad.

On Saturday, we headed up north to Oklahoma to do thanksgiving with Alan's family on Saturday. Will loves playing outside and going down the slide out there.

Again, way too much yummy food! We had so many homemade pies. We enjoyed great time with family and friends again and returned home on Sunday. Will learned many new words this weekend too- he said "Michael", his cousin's name and also said "I sit down" and "chips", well his version is 'bips' and he wanted 'bips' for breakfast today. uh oh, that was a no! He really is starting to talk more and add more words.

Will really enjoyed seeing both sets of grandparents and all the aunts and uncles this weekend. Now we have to get ready for our big 10 day trip to disney. we leave in 10 short days. time to start packing! We are very thankful for our family and our wonderful son. We are so blessed for our great family, home and health.

Stockings hung by the chimney with care

the Peters household is all decorated for the holidays! We started a bit early since we will be gone Dec 10-20th at disney! We got a new tree this year with LED lights and of course all disney decorations.

And while getting our new tree, Will found this cute hat he had to have!

In preparation, Will has been eating some doritos in the car, to work up his appetite! Look at those orange hands and face! Will has also been very helpful in shopping. He loves to push the cart!

We also had a birthday party this weekend for Will's initation into the world of Chuck E. Cheese. He loved it. He even sat with the other kids and ate his pizza (usually he is clinging to me!). He had a great time.

Terrible Twos, Trash and Time Flies

So time flies when you are having fun, right? Well it's been a whirlwind year, full of firsts for our family. 2 years ago, we were so happy to finally welcome our little boy to our family after a year of heart wrenching tests, treatments and more.

William is now a happy and healthy 2 year old- 31lbs and 37.5 inches tall (97th percentile!) and his head is still off the charts in size! big brain, right?

He is still an independent player, he entertains himself for hours reading, doing puzzles and staying busy with his toys. He doesn't really watch much tv, although he will watch Mickey Mouse or Handy Manny for 5- 10 minutes, but not much longer. Like mom, he likes to clean (or at least pretend). Yes, he even puts his dishes in the sink! Talk about well-trained! :) He is afraid of the vacuum cleaner and lawn mowers. Will loves being outside and playing with lights- off and on. And we all know his obsession with trash. He can spot a trash can even while going down the road. he has a 'toy' trash can that he loves to put stuff in and play with. He loves 'bumps' like going over railroad tracks or roller coasters. He still sleeps through the night and has great motor skills. He loves to jump. He is a bit behind on his speech, but we know he will catch up soon and have an assessment scheduled for him soon.

My how he has grown!

Tricks or Treats?

We had a very busy weekend full of ghosts and goblins and none other than Captain Hook! Friday was Will's 2 year birthday, so we celebrated by bringing cookies up to his day care in the afternoon, then he came back to the office with me for a little while. It was then time to trick or treat at the office. Of course Will was more interested in the trash can and trash than candy. Here he is checking out the office trash can! What a strange kid huh? lol

We had to rush out of my office to head back to his day care for their fall festival. Aunt Nene met us there. Will played games, won candy and rode the choo choo train. He had a blast and got lots of compliments on his costume.

Then on Saturday night, it was time to go trick or treating! Alan got a fog machine to set the mood! My parents came over as did my niece Ally, since the rest of her family fell ill. Nene and Jeff came for a bit too. We had pizza and then headed out. At first William wasn't sure what to do, but followed Ally's lead. He really wanted to go into people's houses! And soon he got the hang of it and was running up the doors and pounding on the door instead of knocking nicely! He also wanted to be handed the candy in his hand, not in his bucket. He had a great time. He doesn't really care for sweets all that much, except m&ms and dum dum suckers. So I guess mommy and daddy will be eating the rest (or the office will!). All and all, Will had a great time on his first real halloween trick or treating!

Birthday Boy!

We had Will's 2yo birthday party this sunday afternoon. With halloween approaching and schedules crazy, this was the best time for us, even though his birthday isn't until October 30th. Alan's family was already in town from Oklahoma for his brother's halloween party, so they were all able to come too! We had it at Pump it Up and I must say, it was so great----no setup, no cleanup and the host even wrote down the gifts and names for me for thank you notes. I should have that guy at all my parties, baby showers etc. lol We spent 40 minutes in the first room, 40 in the second and then 40 in the party room for pizza and cake. Will really liked the slides more so than the bounce houses. We were all pretty sweaty after carrying him up and down the slides etc.

Will isn't big on sweets (who child is he????) so he didn't even want any of the birthday cake!

And when it came time for presents, he was more concerned with throwing away the 'trash' than opening the gifts. My little cleaner- he loves 'trash' and points out trash cans everywhere we go. I sometimes fear as he is yelling 'trash' in the store that someone will think he is talking about them!? LOL Maybe I should have made him a trash man for halloween?

We got Will a power wheels for his bday! He loves it. It is a tractor and while we are not big tractor people, all the others ones were way too big to use in the house and this one seemed like a good fit and he won't outgrow it too quickly. He can ride in the house and outside some. He has figured out to push the gas, but not the steering quite yet!
All in all, it was a great party and thank you to all who came out- he had a blast and was pretty pooped when we got home!
